Snowshoes and Scionwood

We needed to cut more Pewaukee and Tydemans Late Orange scionwood yesterday at the Gillett orchard. The Pewaukee trees are in the west end of the orchard and at the back of the row. The Tydemans Late Orange trees are in the East end of the orchard. I will admit that I wasn't getting any joy from the thought of making this epic journey in very deep snow. However, my friend Dave Head, suggested snowshoeing. It was a first using snowshoes in the orchard. In reality, I don't think I could have done it without them. Thanks Dave!

Today was a near repeat with a snowshoeing trek through the Suamico orchard for heirloom apple scionwood.
