Large, long, conical, ribbed apple which, when highly colored, becomes almost purplish. Distinctive unusual flavor, reminiscent of Spitzenburg, rich and sweet, with relatively dry flesh. Hangs well on the tree but do not allow to become overripe as flesh will be too dry.
