Moderate grower, bears young. Fruit medium, highly colored in sunny climates, striped red in cooler climates. Skin thin and tough; flesh fine, juicy. Flavor sprightly subacid. One of the best dessert and pie apples. Ours is the original, not the redder hybrid.
